So, I haven't written in a while. It's not only because rl is requiring my time/energy, but I realize that it's probably not being read. That's ok. I don't really care. I actually started blogging, if that's what I'm doing, for myself, as part of my new sl incarnation.
Hard to explain. Anyhow, I decided today, that since I have the time, I am going to try putting words down, whether it's read by residents or crickets, it matters not.
The shoot. This one was really fun to put together on one hand, and kind of a pain in the ass on the other.
It started with the pose from Fashiowl that was on the Happy Weekend Sale list. Their poses are always so cute and come with props and a pose stand so I don't have to make my own. This week, their Calm Storm Poses, checked all of those boxes.
Why did I choose this one? It's easy. I'm a crazy cat lady in all lives, and I live in Portland, where it is currently raining. Surprise, surprise. Naturally, a pose with a cat and an umbrella was right up my alley - and yes, the backdrop is an alley.
Fun fact about Portland, nobody uses umbrellas. I have lived here 27 years and haven't owned one since I arrived. Hoods work great, folks.
Enough about rl Amethyst. Back to the pose. Everything is great on paper, but the execution was kind of tough. The umbrella and the cat are linked together as one attachment, so it was tricky positioning them.
I tried unlinking them and adding them separately, but that was just too time consuming. I jiggled it around a bit and was able to make it work. Also, if you look at the cat's arm, the one that is trying to get to second base, it looks like it's sinking into my arm. I just want to say that it isn't. It's just made that way.
One if the issues with that damn cat is that my original outfit didn't work with it. Also, I didn't pay attention to the colors of the umbrella. Green and Red. Not my thing.
So, I had to find something that matched with tight sleeves. I headed over to Roslyn and found the perfect dress, also from Happy Weekend. The Faye Outfit is a cute dress.
I didn't understand that the top had texture changes or I wouldn't have picked the one with a red bottom. I really don't like red. But, the textures were great. There was a green one that matched too well, I looked like a Christmas tree and I'm Jewish, so.
Anyhow, I chose the red texture so the dress is all the same color and I actually love it! I pulled the Aubree heels from Cult from my inventory and they worked great.
Additionally, I'm wearing the Gema Hairstyle from FAGA, that I picked up at a previous weekend sale. Bangs are optional and the hair tie has a nice texture hud. The earrings I'm wearing are from Piece Of Me. I love them because they are not too long getting caught in my hair.
The scene. I just love it. I found the BackDrop Rain from H&R Creation on MP for $50. Reading the description, it noted that it was a group gift at their store.
So, I tp'd over there and joined their group for $25 and paid $1 for the backdrop. I also picked up a few other fun things since I joined anyhow.
It's a great backdrop. A simple alley with animated rain. I was able to do my favorite thing, create a scene. Yes, I love when a creator includes a lot of props, but I personally enjoy putting the puzzle together myself. That's why I love creators like TM Creation, whose detailed creations are all unlinkable.
I especially get excited when I find a bunch of freebie props on MP. And that is what I did. Everything I found on MP was free or under $25. You can go back up and look at the credits to see what's what. They're all easily found on MP, and the creators also had tons of freebies in their shops.
